The Forum Helveticum was founded in 1968 as a platform for discussion of current issues in Swiss public life. Being a competence centre for linguistic and cultural understanding, it promotes the understanding in society, politics, economics and culture. In order to do this, it addresses itself to four major tasks: - Observation and monitoring - Information and consulting service - Networking and coordination - Elaboration of precise measures Point 4 includes reports, awareness raising, panel discussions, surveys, campaigns, conventions, publications and innovative projects as “Linguissimo”, the linguistic competition for young people. One of our important working tools is the quadrilingual “Portal for linguistic and cultural understanding” (www.forum-helveticum.ch). We realise most of our activities with partner organisations.
